Shepherd's Pie
Ingredients for Shepherd's Pie
Shepherd's Pie
Mashed Potatoes
700g potatoes, quartered
75g butter
55ml milk
1 egg yolk
salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- For the mash, boil the potatoes, then drain them in sieve and place into a clean bowl.
- Add the milk, butter and egg yolk. and mash together
- Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

2 tbsp Olive oil

1 carrot, diced
1 cup garden peas
1 cup mushroom
2 tbsp Plain Flour
4 Bay Leaves
4 Sprigs fresh thyme
1 cup chopped tomatoes
4 tbsp Worcesterine sauce
450ml chicken stock
1 egg, beaten
1 egg, beaten
salt and freshly fround black pepper
grated parmesan cheese

1. Preheat oven at 200 degrees celcius.
2. Saute the onion and garlic and cook for a few mins.
3. Add the carrots and mushroom until starting to tender, then add the meat.
4. Season with black pepper, thyme and bay leaves.
5. Add the butte and peas.
6. Sprinkle with flour and stir through.
7. Add tomatoes, worcestrine sauce.
8. Let this reduce slightly then add the chicken stock. Allow to reduce down until you have a thick
meaty gravy. Season to taste.
9. Remove from heat.
10.Grease an oven proof dish with butter and add the cooked meat.
11. Spoon or pipe the mashed potatoes over top. Brush with egg and sprinkle with Parmesan Cheese.
12. Bake for abt 20 mins or until the potato is nice and browned on top.

Fruit Pastry
Love this Fruit Pastry, full of fruits and very apetizing..Saw this in one of the food forum, can't remember which one, luckily I still remember the recipe.
Fruit Pastry
Ingredients.1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 cup sugar + 2 tbsp
100g butter
2 tbsp sour cream
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp lemon or orange zests
3 eggs
500 g fruits ( apricots, peaches, strawberry, blueberry, cherries,pineapple)
Method
1. In a strainer, place the prepared fruits cut into not too big pieces), sprinkled them with 2 tbsp sugar.
2. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celcius.
3. Beat butter, sour cream and sugar together.
4. Add eggs one at a time.
5. Add vanilla, zests, flour and baking powder and mix until everything is smooth.
6. Butter and flour a 9 inches round baking pan.
7. Place the batter in the pan.
8. Plae fruits on top ( don't press).
9. Bake for 60 to 70 mins depending on your oven.
